All sessions are planned and led by Darcy Bennett. Darcy played his youth soccer with CBS and continues to represent the club in Challenge Cup, the provinces top senior league. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, we are very privileged as a club to have Darcy work with our next generation of keepers.
Darcy, along with our up and coming PYL keepers and guest coaches, will provide our keepers with an opportunity to develop their skills as well as understanding game management and other attributes unique to the position.
Keeper Union #1 (U11Metro/House League)
Keeper Union #1 is tailored towards all U11 players looking to become a fulltime keeper. Players will be introduced to the fundamentals of the position. Shot stopping, ball distribution, diving and other keeper specific techniques will be the focus for Union #1.
Keeper Union #2 (U12PYL / U13Metro)
Keeper Union #2 is targeted towards our U12PYL and U13 Metro keepers. Players that want to take their game to the next level and aspire to play competitively with PYL and NLSA teams. Union #2 will continue to develop keeper specific skills introduced in Union #1 and expose our athletes to a more challenging training environment.
Keeper Union #3 (U13PYL / U15Metro / U15PYL / U17PYL)
Keeper Union #3 is for participants who play using full size goals. Keepers will further develop their skills and be exposed to a fun but physically demanding training environment. Union #3 will challenge our athletes to embrace the pressures and responsibilities of being a competitive keeper. An emphasis on game management and the importance of team organization will boost our keepers ability to read the game and highlight how keepers can impact a game without ever having to make a save.
